4-H Youth Development

4-H is the nation’s largest youth development and empowerment organization; in Wisconsin, more than 150,000 youth in urban, suburban and rural settings are involved with 4-H and other UW-Extension youth programs. Youth from five-year kindergarten to one year past high school can learn important life skills like leadership, teamwork, critical thinking and communication to help prepare them for successful futures – and they do it while engaging in fun, hands-on 4-H activities!

Agriculture and Natural Resources

Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension (ANRE) is one of four program areas in Cooperative Extension. ANRE programs and educators help those in rural and urban communities use research and knowledge to solve problems and take advantage of new opportunities. ANRE educators balance farm profitability and production of high quality food, horticultural crops, fiber, and plant material with protection of the natural environment.

Community, Natural Resources, and Economic Development

Backed by University of Wisconsin research, our Community Development Educators work in partnership with people in county, state, federal and tribal governments, community organizations, volunteers, business and industry. Our outreach programs, research and assistance involve people, communities and organizations in educational experiences that teach them to apply the latest knowledge and technology to local issues and concerns.

Family Living Programs

By responding to the challenges facing today’s families with evidence-informed programs and practices, as well as local knowledge gained from living in the communities they serve, Extension educators are helping to create an environment where families have the information, skills and assets they need to improve their quality of life and contribute to their communities.

Leadership Wisconsin

Leadership Wisconsin is Wisconsin’s premier leadership development organization with a national reputation for producing highly effective leaders.  In order to meet community challenges and recognize opportunities, Wisconsin needs leaders who show initiative, listen intently, understand the breadth and depth of issues, assume responsibility, act with civility and exercise sound decision making.

The Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey

The Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey (WGNHS) has been working to serve Wisconsin for over 100 years. They provide objective scientific information about the geology, mineral resources, and water resources of Wisconsin.
